American Shooting guard De'Quan Abrom (188-SG-1996) put on an amazing game in the last round for top-ranked Negeri Sembilan Matrix, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2.
The 28-year old player was the main contributor (34 points, five rebounds and four assists) to his team's victory, helping them to outclass Penang SY (#3, 3-4) with 34-point margin 90-56. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed NS Matrix to consolidate first place in the Malaysian MBL. NS Matrix have a solid 6-1 record. In the team's last game Abrom had a remarkable 100.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be NS Matrix's top player in his first season with the team. Former Belmont Abbey College star has very solid stats this year. Abrom is league's best scorer averaging so far 20.0ppg. Abrom is in league's top in assists (8th best: 3.0apg) and averages impressive 2.7spg and 68.0% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was another NS Matrix's star - young South Sudanese Madut Akec (201-F-1999). Akec had a very good evening with a double-double of 21 points and 11 rebounds. Of course together with Abrom he helped Negeri Sembilan Matrix with another comfortable win outscoring Putrajaya (2-6) 83-57. The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Akec is a newcomer at NS Matrix, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.3ppg (#3). His other stats are also decent: 11.3rpg and 3.4apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was DR Congolese guard Tychique Bosango (192-G-2001) of Putrajaya (#5). Bosango scored 23 points and grabbed 13 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Putrajaya, leading his team to a 77-70 win against Sarawak CW (#2, 4-3). Putrajaya can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 2-6 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Bosango has individually a great season in Malaysia. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 14.8ppg (9th best) and rebounds with 8.4rpg (6th best). Tychique Bosango has also Malaysian passport and can play in the league with a status of domestic player.
