Abrom number one in Malaysia MPL for round 5 (by Hoops Agents)

American Shooting guard De'Quan Abrom (188-SG-1996) had a very impressive game in the last round for top-ranked Negeri Sembilan Matrix, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5.
The 27-year old player was the main contributor (23 points, eight rebounds and four assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Penang SY (#3, 5-9) 88-74. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed NS Matrix to consolidate first place in the Malaysian MPL. NS Matrix have a solid 12-3 record. In the team's last game Abrom had a remarkable 72.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be NS Matrix's top player in his first season with the team. Former Belmont Abbey College star has very solid stats this year. Abrom is in league's top in points (5th best: 19.1ppg), assists (4th best: 4.1apg) and averages impressive 3.1spg and 53.4% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Guyanese Anthony Moe (207-C-1990) of KL Aseel. Moe had a very good evening with a double-double of 32 points and 17 rebounds. Bad luck as KL Aseel was edged by slightly higher-ranked Johor Tigers (#2, 11-4) 78-77. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. KL Aseel still maintains its place in the top 4 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 4-9 record. Moe is a newcomer at KL Aseel, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 24.2ppg (#1). He also registered 16.9 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Cameron Satterwhite (193-G-1997) of Penang Sunrise Youngsters (#3). Satterwhite scored 25 points and grabbed 13 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Penang SY, leading his team to a 80-72 win against #2 ranked Johor Tigers. The chances of Penang SY not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 9 games, recording just five victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Satterwhite could try to bring Penang SY's a little bit higher in the standings. Satterwhite has individually a great season in Malaysia. After 13 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.2ppg (3rd best), rebounds with 7.2rpg (9th best) and assists with 3.8apg (5th best). He also has 2.4spg, 1.1bpg and a FGP of 51.3%.
