Tolbert number one in Malaysia MPL for round 2 (by Hoops Agents)

American Forward Jordan Tolbert (200-F-1992) put on an amazing game in the last round for Penang Sunrise Youngsters, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2.
The 31-year old player had a double-double of 25 points and 17 rebounds, while his team beat KL Aseel (#4, 1-4) 83-77. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Penang SY maintains the 3rd position in Malaysian MPL. Penang SY is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 2-3 record. Tolbert turned to be Penang SY's top player in his first season with the team. Former Southern Methodist University star has very solid stats this year. Tolbert is in league's top in points (6th best: 21.0ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 15.6rpg) and averages impressive 1.4bpg,2.6spg and 50.7% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was Guyanese Anthony Moe (207-C) of KL Aseel. Moe had a very good evening with a double-double of 35 points and 21 rebounds. Bad luck as KL Aseel lost that game 77-83 to Penang SY (2-3). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Moe is a newcomer at KL Aseel, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 24.0ppg (#2). He also registered 17.4 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was American guard De'Quan Abrom (188-SG-1996) of league's second-best Negeri Sembilan Matrix. Abrom got into 30-points club by scoring 33 points in the last round. He went also for nine rebounds and nine assists. Despite Abrom's great performance NS Matrix lost 99-102 to #1 ranked Johor Tigers. But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. NS Matrix had another "accident". It may be a crucial game and cause dropping from the group of top ranked teams. The record is still good, but 1st lost game is hopefully really an accident. Abrom's teammates are also very good. That's why having such high stats is even more impressive. Abrom has a great season in Malaysia. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 22.8ppg (3rd best) and assists with 4.8apg (7th best).
