The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Perak Red E. (4-1) at the home court on Friday night. Hosts were defeated by Sarawak FH (5-0) 86-78. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Perak Red E.. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Sarawak FH made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Perak Red E. 45-34 including 33 on the defensive glass. Sarawak FH looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Maegen Suresh had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international center Yoong-Jing Kwaan (198-1990) chipped in 9 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Sarawak FH's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was point guard Kok-Weng Lai (182-2002) with 29 points. Undefeated Sarawak FH have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Perak Red E. at the other side dropped to the second place with one game lost. Sarawak FH are looking forward to face league's second-placed Johor Tigers in Johor Baharu in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Selection Team has finally registered their first victory this season after five consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat PDRM (0-5) 78-65 on Friday. The best player for the winners was Michael Munnesvicky who scored 23 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Zhi-Shin Chin who recorded 20 points and 7 rebounds. Selection Team maintains fifth position with 1-5 record. It was PDRM's fifth loss in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. Selection Team will meet Sarawak FH II (#5) in the next round. PDRM will have a break next round.

Selangor XXIII - Penang SY 66-86

Very significant was Penang SY's (#3) 20-point road victory against one of their biggest challengers Selangor XXIII 86-66. Penang SY dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Selangor XXIII's 28. They outrebounded Selangor XXIII 56-26 including a 24-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. Very expected game when 5th ranked Sarawak FH II (1-4) was crushed on the road by top-ranked NS Matrix (4-0) 132-64 on Friday. NS Matrix dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Sarawak FH II's 30. NS Matrix forced 28 Sarawak FH II turnovers and outrebounded them 56-31 including a 22-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. NS Matrix looked well-organized offensively handing out 40 assists comparing to just 20 passes made by Sarawak FH II's players.
