Rajintiran number one in Malaysia MWBL for round 5 (by Hoops Agents)- November 4, 2023International Center Kalaimathi Rajintiran (185-C-1990) had a very impressive game in the last round for second-ranked Tiger, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5.
The 33-year old player got a double-double of 18 points and 10 assists, while her team beat Putrajaya (#4, 2-3) 97-82. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Tiger maintains the 2nd position in Malaysian MWBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Tiger will need more victories to improve their 3-1 record. Rajintiran turned to be Tiger's top player in her first season with the team. Kalaimathi Rajintiran has solid league stats. She is in league's top in points (8th best: 13.8ppg) and averages impressive 57.1% FGP. The second best player in last round's games was Shin-Pei Ong of Putrajaya. Ong had a very good evening with a double-double of 25 points and 11 assists. Bad luck as Putrajaya lost that game 82-97 to slightly higher-ranked Tiger (#2, 3-1). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Putrajaya still maintains its place in the top 4 of the standings, even despite this loss. Her team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 2-3 record. Ong is a newcomer at Putrajaya, but is already one of team's top players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.2ppg (#5). Her other stats are also decent: 5.2rpg and 4.6apg. Third on the list of top players last round was another Tiger's star - international guard Sin-Jie Tan (168-PG-2002). Tan scored 28 points and passed eight assists. She was another key player of Tiger, helping her team with a 97-82 easy win against #4 ranked Putrajaya. Tiger needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 1 lost game. Tan has a great season in Malaysia. After only 4 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 13.8ppg (best scorer), rebounds with 4.0rpg (3rd best) and assists with 4.8apg (5th best).
