Round 5 most important game was a victory of Tiger over 3rd placed Putrajaya 97-82 on Thursday night. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Tiger outrebounded Putrajaya 46-26 including a 38-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 38 assists. International point guard Sin-Jie Tan (168-2002) orchestrated the victory by scoring 28 points and 8 assists. The former international center Kalaimathi Rajintiran (185-1990) contributed with 18 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. Tiger's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Shin-Pei Ong answered with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 11 assists and 4 steals for Putrajaya. Tiger have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 3-1 record behind leader NS Matrix. Putrajaya at the other side dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. Tiger are looking forward to face league's leader NS Matrix in Seremban in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Putrajaya will play against Selangor and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Penang supposed to be also worth to mention about. Third ranked Selangor (2-1) played at the court of 5th ranked Penang S. (1-3). Selangor smashed Penang S. 73-45. Poh-Yee Ooi stepped up and scored 14 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and Jo-Rynn Lee chipped in 8 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Li-Xian Lee responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 15 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Selangor maintains third place with 2-1 record having just three points less than leader NS Matrix. Penang S. lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with three games lost. Selangor will play against Putrajaya (#4) in the next round. Penang S. will have a break next round.

Jo-Rynn Lee chipped in 8 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists.
Li-Xian Lee responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 15 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and
Hui-Yong Tan scored 15 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Selangor maintains third place with 2-1 record having just three points less than leader NS Matrix. Penang S. lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with three games lost.
