Best players of Malaysian National Championship round 4 (by Hoops Agents)- November 3, 2023Talented International Point guard Chee-Wei Lim (175-PG-2003) had a great game in the last round for league's second-best Johor Tigers and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 4.
The 20-year old playmaker had the game-high 22 points adding three rebounds and five assists for Johor Tigers in his team's victory, helping them to outclass Penang S. (#3, 2-2) with 69-point margin 108-39. Johor Tigers maintains the 2nd position in their group in Malaysian MPL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Johor Tigers will need more victories to improve their 3-1 record. In the team's last game Lim had a remarkable 80.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Johor Tigers' top player in his first season with the team. Lim has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (7th best: 15.5ppg), rebounds (9th best: 5.3rpg), assists (3rd best: 6.0apg) and averages solid 3.3spg,65.4% FGP and 42.9% from behind 3-point line. The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young point guard Hao-Wen Khor (180-PG-2001) of Penang SY. Khor impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 22 points and 11 assists. Of course he led Penang SY to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Selection Team (#5, 1-4) 87-63. Penang SY's 3rd position in Group B has not changed. His team's 3-2 record is not bad at all. Khor is a newcomer at Penang SY and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. The third best performed player last round was international guard Chun-Hong Ting (193-G-1996) of top-ranked NS Matrix. Ting scored 23 points and grabbed ten rebounds. He was a key player of NS Matrix, leading his team to a 124-20 easy win against #4 ranked Kelantan W. in a game of the week. NS Matrix started extremely well this year. They recorded 4 victories without losing a single game in Group A. Ting turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. Ting has a great season in Malaysia. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.0ppg (2nd best) and rebounds with 8.3rpg (8th best). Other top performing players last week: 4.
