Hong Kong Eastern headed to the Finals of the ASEAN League. They swept the series against NS Matrix 2-0 after a 76-70 win in game 2.
Both teams exchanged the wins in the first two quarters that gave 1-point halftime advantage for the Malaysian side. Hong Kong Eastern meanwhile won the third quarter 22-19 and closed the game with a final 23-19 rally.
Dominic Gilbert (198-G/F, college: UBC, agency: BIG) top-scored for the winners with 26 points and Chris McLaughlin (208-C, college: Victoria) netted 21. Amir Williams (211-C-1992, college: Ohio St.) replied with 26 points and 12 rebounds in the losing effort.
