Garcia number one in Malaysia MBL for round 8 (by Hoops Agents)

Costa Rican-Belizean Power forward Charles Garcia (204-PF-1988) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Adroit, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 34-year old player had a double-double of 46 points and 17 rebounds, while his team beat Penang SY (#5, 3-7) 112-107. Adroit maintains the 3rd position in Malaysian MBL. Adroit is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 5-5 record. In the team's last game Garcia had a remarkable 61.9% from 2-point range. He turned to be Adroit's top player in his first season with the team. Former Seattle University star has very solid stats this year. Garcia is in league's top in points (2nd best: 25.9ppg), rebounds (4th best: 13.6rpg) and averages impressive 1.1bpg and 51.0% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Filipino Jeff Viernes (172-PG-1989) of league's second-best NS Matrix. Viernes had a very good evening with a double-double of 49 points and 12 rebounds. Of course he led NS Matrix to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Pegasus (#6, 2-8) 118-86. This victory allowed NS Matrix to move up to second position in the standings. His team's 7-3 record is not bad at all. Viernes is a newcomer at NS Matrix, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was Australian Jean-Luc Morel of Penang SY (#5). Morel scored 14 points and grabbed 31 rebounds (!!!). Despite Morel's great performance Penang SY lost 107-112 to slightly higher-ranked Adroit (#3, 5-5). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Penang SY not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 7 games, recording just three victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Morel could try to bring Penang SY's a little bit higher in the standings. Morel has individually a great season in Malaysia. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 16.6rpg (2nd best).
