Johor Tigers - Pegasus 101-88 Leader Johor Tigers delivered the seventh victory on Friday night. This time they beat 6th ranked Pegasus (2-7) 101-88 in Johor Baharu. Johor Tigers made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game, while Pegasus only scored one point from the stripe. Johor Tigers forced 25 Pegasus turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American forward Tevin Glass (206-1994, college: ETSU, agency: BIG) had a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!), 17 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and international point guard Yee-Tong Heng (178-1998) chipped in 25 points and 4 steals during the contest. The best for the losing side was guard Jia-Jun Lee (180-1999) with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and Filipino forward Andrian Celada (190-1988) scored 21 points and 6 assists. Four Pegasus players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Johor Tigers (7-1) have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position. Pegasus lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with seven games lost. Johor Tigers will meet Penang SY (#4) on the road in the next round. Pegasus will play against KL Aseel and it may be a tough game between close rivals. Adroit was defeated by KL Aseel at home 85-69. KL Aseel outrebounded Adroit 56-42 including a 20-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Zhen-Jie Tem (177-1998) who scored 28 points and 9 rebounds. Manzo Jun chipped in 18 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. KL Aseel's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Costa Rican-Belizean Charles Garcia (204-1988, college: Seattle) who recorded a double-double by scoring 28 points and 13 rebounds and Singapore guard Zhen-Qiang Zhou (177-1993) added 14 points and 4 assists respectively. KL Aseel maintains fifth position with 3-6 record. Adroit at the other side keeps the third place with five games lost. KL Aseel are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Pegasus (#6) in Bandar Seri Begawan in the next round. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. NS Matrix have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 6-2 record behind leader Johor Tigers. Penang SY at the other side keeps the fourth place with six games lost. NS Matrix will play against Adroit (#3) in Singapore in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Penang SY will play at home against the league's leader Johor Tigers and hopes to get back on the winning track.
