Best players of Malaysian MBL round 3 (by Hoops Agents)- November 23, 2022
The 31-year old center had the game-high 32 points adding five rebounds and two assists for Pegasus in his team's victory, helping them to outclass KL Aseel (2-1) with 30-point margin 84-54. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Pegasus to jump to the first place in the Malaysian MBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Pegasus has a very solid 2-1 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. In the team's last game Dasom had a remarkable 63.2% from 2-point range. He turned to be Pegasus' top player in his first season with the team. Dasom has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (5th best: 21.3ppg) and averages solid 61.9% FGP. The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American forward Tevin Glass (206-F-1994, agency: BIG) of Johor Tigers. Glass impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 32 points and 18 rebounds. Bad luck as Johor Tigers lost that game 81-88 to NS Matrix (2-1). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Glass is a newcomer at Johor Tigers and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 24.7ppg (#3). His other stats are also decent: 16.7rpg and 3.3apg. The third best performed player last round was international Chun-Hong Ting (193-C/F-1996) of second-ranked NS Matrix. Ting got into 30-points club by scoring 34 points in the last round. He went also for eight rebounds and five assists. He was a key player of NS Matrix, leading his team to a 94-87 win against Adroit (#6, 0-3). NS Matrix needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 2 victories and 1 lost game. Ting has a great season in Malaysia. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 25.3ppg (best scorer) and rebounds with 7.7rpg (9th best). Other top performing players last week: 4. Charles Garcia (204-PF-1988) of Adroit - 21 points and 13 rebounds 5. Ryan Smith (213-C-1995) of Pegasus - 10 points, 21 rebounds and 4 assists 6. Moses Morgan (198-SF-1992) of Adroit - 24 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists 7. Wei-Yong Ong (177-PG-1993) of NS Matrix - 11 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists 8. Yi-Hou Wong (196-F-1996) of NS Matrix - 18 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists 9. Jia-Hao Hiew (173-SG-2001) of NS Matrix - 17 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists 10. Tian-Yuan Kuek (201-F-1991) of NS Matrix - 13 points and 13 rebounds The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
