Glass number one in Malaysia MBL for round 1 (by Hoops Agents)- November 21, 2022
The 28-year old player had a double-double of 22 points and 12 rebounds, while his team beat Adroit (#6, 0-3), the league's bottom-ranked team 89-74. It allowed Johor Tigers to consolidate first place in the Malaysian MBL. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Johor Tigers won both games without losing any. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. Glass turned to be Johor Tigers' top player in his first season with the team. Former East Tennessee State University star has very solid stats this year. Glass is in league's top in points (2nd best: 21.0ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 16.0rpg), assists (3rd best: 3.5apg) and averages impressive 2.5spg. The second best player in last round's games was young Thailand Wutipong Dasom (195-C-1991) of league's second-best Pegasus. Dasom had a very good evening with a double-double of 24 points and 14 rebounds. Bad luck as Pegasus was edged by Penang SY (1-2) 86-84. The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Dasom is a newcomer at Pegasus, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.0ppg (#5). He also registered 8.0 boards per game. Third on the list of top players last round was another Pegasus' star - American center Ryan Smith (213-C-1995). Smith scored 14 points and grabbed eleven rebounds (!!!). Despite Smith's great performance Pegasus lost 84-86 to Penang SY (#5, 1-2). But his team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates. The last thing Pegasus needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 2 victories and 1 lost game. Smith has a great season in Malaysia. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.5ppg (4th best) and rebounds with 17.0rpg (#1 in league). Other top performing players last week: 4. Charles Garcia (204-PF-1988) of Adroit - 24 points and 14 rebounds 5. Wei-Long Tan (188-G-1993) of KL Aseel - 12 points and 14 rebounds 6. Jean-Luc Morel) of Penang SY - 20 points and 9 rebounds 7. Jai Reyes (173-G-1987) of KL Aseel - 23 points and 5 rebounds 8. Chee-wei Lim) of Johor Tigers - 14 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists 9. Jayson Lee) of Penang SY - 18 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists 10. Kittitep Dasom) of Penang SY - 24 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
