MPL D-League Round 4: Selangor XX lose to CLS Knights

There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in MPL D-League. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Undefeated Selangor XX (1-1) recorded its first loss at the home court on Thursday night. Hosts were edged by third ranked CLS Knights (2-2) 74-71. Despite that victory CLS Knights went down to fourth position due to points difference, which they share with Speed Hunters. Selangor XX at the other side dropped to the sixth place with one game lost. CLS Knights is looking forward to face league's second-placed Penang Stallions at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Selangor XX will have a break next round.
Important game to mention about took place in Penang. Third ranked Penang SY (4-2) saved a 1-point victory at home edging 4th ranked Pegasus (1-2) 73-72 on Saturday evening. Penang SY have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Penang Stallions. Pegasus at the other side dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. Penang SY's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Penang .
Very important is a home loss of third ranked CLS Knights (2-2) against fifth ranked KL Aseel (3-2) on Saturday night. Host CLS Knights were defeated by KL Aseel in 63-49. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of CLS Knights. KL Aseel moved-up to third place, which they share with GoStrong. Loser CLS Knights dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. They share it with Speed Hunters. KL Aseel will meet Roosters (#7) in the next round. CLS Knights will play against the league's second-placed Penang Stallions and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Rest of the games of round 4 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
winless Adroit was crushed by Selangor XXIII in a road game 100-57. Selangor XX beat Roosters at home 97-81. Winless Flyer Spirit were destroyed by GoStrong on the opponent's court 94-22. Speed Hunters was outscored by Penang SY in a home game 73-92. Penang Stallions rolled over Roosters on the road 113-65. Johor Tiger were defeated by Speed Hunters on its own court 85-90. NS Matrix smashed Flyer Spirit in a road game 133-45.

Selangor XXIII - Adroit 100-57

There was no surprise when bottom-ranked Adroit (0-4) was crushed on the road by first ranked Selangor XXIII (6-2) 100-57 on Thursday. Selangor XXIII have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 6-2 record. Loser Adroit still closes the standings with four games lost. Selangor XXIII will meet Flyer Spirit (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Adroit will have a break next round.

GoStrong - Flyer Spirit 94-22

Very expected game in Kuala Lumpur where bottom-ranked Flyer Spirit (0-5) was rolled over by fourth ranked GoStrong (3-2) 94-22 on Friday. GoStrong moved-up to third place, which they share with KL Aseel. Loser Flyer Spirit still closes the standings with five games lost. GoStrong will meet league's leader NS Matrix in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Flyer Spirit will play against the league's leader Selangor XXIII (#1) and hopes to get finally their first victory.

Speed Hunters - Penang SY 73-92

Rather predictable result in Selangor where third ranked Penang SY (4-2) outscored 5th ranked Speed Hunters (2-2) 92-73 on Friday. Penang SY have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Penang Stallions. Loser Speed Hunters dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. They share it with CLS Knights. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

CLS Knights - KL Aseel 49-63
