Macau adds Deguara to their roster

Macau Black Bears (TAT) added to their roster 33-year old Maltese international center Samuel Deguara (230cm-131kg-1991) for season 2024-25. He played last season at Mustangs in Taiwanese TAT league.
In 2015 he was drafted by Erie Bay Hawks (D-League) in sixth round (98th overall).
He has been also a member of the Maltese international program for some years. Deguara has regularly played for the Maltese senior team since 2008 and previously for the Under 18 National Team back in 2009.
He also represented Malta at the FIBA European Championship for Small Countries in Andorra la Vella (Andorra) this year. His was the best scorer at the tournament with 22 points per game, while he helped his team to won Silver.
Deguara is quite experienced player. Thanks to Deguara's pro career he managed to play on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America) in fourteen different countries. He has played previously in Chile (Puerto Montt), China, Hong Kong (HK Eastern), Italy (Benetton Treviso, Reggio Emilia and Caorle), Japan (Excellence), Lithuania (Silute), Malaysia (Farmco), Malta (Bupa), Philippines (Alab Pilipinas), Spain (Fuenlabrada), Taiwan (Fubon Braves, GhostHawks, TB Deguararobears and Pirates), NBA G League (College Park SkyHawks), Thailand (Mono Vampire and PEA) and Canada (River Lions).
Among many awards he played in the final of Taiwanese T1 League in 2023. He was voted to Asia-basket.com All-Taiwanese T1 League Honorable Mention in 2023.
