Saigon Heat overcame Black Bears 84-76 in Singapore at their start of the ASEAN Invitational tournament opener. The team from Macau started better and led 1 point at the end of the first period and the first half. Saigon Heat meanwhile replied with a 23-14 run in the third quarter to seal the win.
JR Holder (198-SG-1994, college: Jacksonville) top-scored for the winners with 22 points and Jeremy Combs (199-F/C-1995, college: Texas Southern) collected 19 points and 16 rebounds. Jenning Leung (185-G-1995) replied with 23 points in a loss and ISAIAH ALLEN posted 20.
