Lebanon clinched the first win at the 2012 Fiba Asia Cup. They knocked down Macau in preliminary Group A. Elie Estephane (193-G-86, college: Alabama So. CC) posted 24 point to lead the defending champions.
Lebanon unloaded 32 points in the opening quarter to take a comfortable 15-point lead. They held Macau to just 8 points in the second quarter and stretched the lead. Lebanon ensured a 62:25 halftime advantage. The third term was a repetition of the second as Lebanon went on another 30:8 rally and secured a massive 59-point advantage before the fourth frame. They did not slow down and cruised to the victory at the end. Fadi Khatib (199-F-79) accounted for 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists, while Elie Roustom (197-F-87) added 15 points for the winners. Hip Meng Lo answered with 14 points for Macau. Fu In Lao netted 12 points in the loss.

The Macau Black Bears banked on a late rally to defend homecourt and defeat the Saigon Heat 97-95 in ASEAN Basketball League action. At 5-0, with another opponent/victory waiting in the wings, the Guam Men's National Basketball Team has already made history.
