Lebanese WLBL round 9 best performance: Ify Okoro

Ify Okoro (G ) had a great game in the last round for Sporting Bkennaya, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 9.
The player had a double-double of 32 points and 17 rebounds, while her team crushed Almtayleb (#9, 1-8) with 22-point margin 87-65. Bkennaya maintains the 7th position in Lebanese WLBL. Bkennaya is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 4-4 record. In the team's last game Okoro had a remarkable 76.9% from 2-point range. She just recently signed at Bkennaya, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Ify Okoro has solid league stats. She is in league's top in points (6th best: 19.3ppg) and averages impressive 3.0spg and 66.7% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Chyna Cornwell (190-C -2001) of Beirut First Club. Cornwell had a very good evening with a double-double of 20 points and 22 rebounds. Of course she led Beirut FC to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Damour (#8, 2-7) 86-65. Despite this victory Beirut FC slide down in the standings to 6th position. Her team lost some distance to top teams. But a 4-4 record is not bad and everything may still change. Cornwell is one of the most experienced players at Beirut FC and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American guard LaDazhia Williams (193-SG-1998) of league's second-best Homentmen Antelias. Williams scored 23 points and grabbed 12 rebounds (!!!). Despite Williams' great performance the Homentmen lost 77-80 to #1 ranked Al Riyadi. But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. Homentmen had another "accident". It may be a crucial game and cause dropping from the group of top ranked teams. The record is still good, but 1st lost game is hopefully really an accident. Williams' teammates are also very good. That's why having such high stats is even more impressive. Williams has a great season in Lebanon. After only 8 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.9ppg (7th best) and assists with 2.4apg (7th best).
