Elias' 24 points give her Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

Zeina Elias (SF ) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Azour and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
She had the game-high 24 points adding five rebounds for Azour in her team's victory, helping them to edge out Al Riyadi (#1, 8-1) 88-85. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Azour maintains the 3rd position in Lebanese WLBL. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Azour will need more victories to improve their 7-2 record. Elias just recently signed at Azour, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Zeina Elias averages this season 14.1ppg and 7.1rpg.

Second best performed player last round was Chyna Cornwell (190-C -2001) of Beirut First Club. She is American in her first season at Beirut FC. In the last game Cornwell recorded an impressive double-double of 18 points and 21 rebounds. Bad luck as Beirut FC was edged by slightly higher-ranked Homentmen A. (#2, 8-1) 79-75. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Beirut FC still maintains its place in the top 4 of the standings, even despite this loss. Her team's 4-3 record is not bad at all. Cornwell is one of the most experienced players at Beirut FC and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Italee Lucas (172-G-1989) of league's leader Sporting Al Riyadi Beirut. Lucas got into 30-points club by scoring 41 points in the last round. She went also for six rebounds and four assists. Despite Lucas' great performance the Al Riyadi lost 85-88 to #3 ranked Azour. But her team cannot count on just a single shooter as she also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. Al Riyadi had another "accident". It may be a crucial game and cause dropping from the group of top ranked teams. The record is still good, but 1st lost game is hopefully really an accident. Lucas' teammates are also very good. That's why having such high stats is even more impressive. Lucas has a great season in Lebanon. After only 7 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 23.3ppg (2nd best) and assists with 5.4apg (6th best). She also has a FGP of 51.7% and 3PT: 47.3%.
