Destiney Philoxy (ex APR) joins Beirut First Club

Destiney Philoxy

Beirut First Club (WLBL) agreed terms with 25-year old Rwandan international guard Destiney Philoxy (170cm-2000, college: UMass). She played last summer at APR BBC Kigali in Rwandan D1 league. In 6 African Women Basketball League games she had very impressive stats: 18.2ppg, 4.8rpg, 5.7apg and 1.8spg. She also played 7 games in D1 where she recorded also remarkable stats: 18.9ppg, 6.7rpg, 6.1apg and 1.3spg. Philoxy helped them to make it to the semifinals. The other team she played shortly was Adelitas de Chihuahua (LNBPF) in Mexican league. She has been regularly called to the Rwandan Senior National Team since 2023.
Philoxy's career allowed her to visit four different continents. Philoxy tasted the life as a pro basketball player in Europe, Latin America, Africa and of course North America. She has played professionally also in Greece (Athinaikos) and Mexico. Philoxy was voted to Afrobasket.com All-FIBA Afrobasket Honorable Mention in 2025.
She graduated from University of Massachusetts in 2023 and it will be her fourth season as a professional player.
