WLBL Round 4 (Regular Season): Homentmen edge Azour by three points

Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The most exciting game of round 4 in the WLBL took place in . This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 5th ranked Azour (2-2) to top-ranked Homentmen (4-0) 84-81 on Saturday evening. Strangely Azour outrebounded Homentmen 41-29 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. American LaDazhia Williams (193-1998, college: LSU) fired a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. The other American import center Angel Baker (173-2000, college: Ole Miss) chipped in 26 points and 4 assists. American forward LeLe Grissett (188, college: S.Carolina) produced a double-double by scoring 25 points, 18 rebounds and 6 assists for lost side. Homentmen have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 4-0 record behind leader Al Riyadi. Azour at the other side dropped to the sixth place with two games lost. Homentmen are looking forward to face Antranik (#4) in Beirut in the next round. Azour will play against Damour and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.

Worth to mention a great performance of American-Angolan guard Italee Lucas (172-1989, college: UNC) who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Sarah Boothe contributed with 11 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Al Riyadi's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American DeMyla Brown (170, college: Missouri) replied with 24 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals (made all of her eleven free throws !!!) for NSA. Al Riyadi have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 5-0 record. NSA at the other side keeps the seventh place with three games lost. They share the position with Almtayleb. Al Riyadi will play against Bkennaya (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. NSA will play against Bkennaya (#3) to get more than just one victory in their record.

Worth to mention a great performance of Aminata Ly who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side Alexa Hart responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bkennaya moved-up to third place, which they share with Antranik and Beirut FC. Newly promoted Damour still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Lebanese U18. Bkennaya will meet league's leader Al Riyadi in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Damour will play against Azour (#6) and hopes to get finally their first victory.

Al Riyadi - NSA 82-64

Al Riyadi players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by NSA's players. At the losing side American Alexa Hart (190-1995, college: Ohio St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and her fellow American import Sonia Smith (170, college: GMU) scored 14 points and 5 steals.
