Grissett's double-double lands her Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

Elissa Grissett (SG ) had an amazing evening in the last round for Azour and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 1.
She had a double-double of 28 points and 14 rebounds, while her team outclassed, the league's bottom-ranked team Almtayleb (#8, 0-1) with 30-point margin 89-59. Azour maintains the 3rd position in Lebanese WLBL. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Azour won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. Grissett turned to be Azour's top player in her first season with the team. Grissett has impressive league stats. She is league's best scorer averaging so far 28.0ppg. Grissett is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 14.0rpg) and averages solid 84.6% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Chyna Cornwell (190-C -2001) of Beirut First Club. She is American in her first season at Beirut FC. In the last game Cornwell recorded an impressive double-double of 20 points and 21 rebounds. It was enough for Beirut FC to edge NSA (0-2) by 5 points 62-57. The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Cornwell is one of the most experienced players at Beirut FC and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to center Sarah Boothe (195-C-1990) of league's leader Sporting Al Riyadi Beirut. Boothe showcased her all-around game by recording 27 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists in the last round. She was a key player of Al Riyadi, leading her team to a 95-79 easy win against Damour (#9, 0-2). Al Riyadi has a very good start of the season. But there were just 2 games played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Boothe also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. Boothe has a great season in Lebanon. After only 2 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 5.0apg (8th best).
