WLBL top team - Al Riyadi (13-0) had no problems winning another game on Monday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Champs (6-8) in Beirut 100-58. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Champs. Al Riyadi dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Champs' 28. They outrebounded Champs 42-20 including a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Al Riyadi looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Maygen Naassan (180-2006) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). American swingman Quionche Carter (183, college: FGCU) contributed with 18 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Al Riyadi's coach Hebatalla Hassanein felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American Tina Stephens (188-1999, college: Troy) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for Champs. Defending champion maintains first place with 13-0 record. Champs at the other side keep the sixth position with eight games lost.
Bottom-ranked Hoops is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 14th consecutive match to fourth ranked Club Beirut (8-5) 75-39. Zeina Elias stepped up with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and Imani McGee-Stafford chipped in 14 points. At the losing side American forward Lyndsey Whilby (180-1999, college: KSU) responded with 20 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Club Beirut maintains fourth place with 8-5 record, which they share with Sporting B. Hoops at the other side still closes the standings with 14 games lost.
The game in supposed to be also quite interesting. Third ranked Azour (11-2) played at the court of 7th ranked NSA (5-8). Azour smashed NSA 108-55 on Monday. Kai James nailed a double-double by scoring 29 points and 18 rebounds for the winning side. Olesia Malashenko came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists for NSA in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Newly promoted Azour maintains third place with 11-2 record having just two points less than leader Al Riyadi. Loser NSA keeps the seventh position with eight games lost.
In the last two games of round 13 Antranik was smashed by Homentmen on the road 80-34. Sporting B. won against Almtayleb on its own court 93-81.
