Azour (WLBL) signed experienced 36-year old American (has also Angolan passport) guard Italee Lucas (172cm-1989, college: UNC). She joins another USA player Kai James who is already in the roster.
It is actually her comeback to Azour as she has played here before. She just played at Inter-Clube in Angolan D1 league. Lucas also played for Azour in Lebanese WLBL where in 8 D1 games she had very impressive stats: 15.1ppg, 7.0rpg, 4.5apg and 1.6spg last season.
In 2011 she was drafted by Tulsa Shock (WNBA) in second round (21st overall).
The former University of North Carolina star is in her 14th (!!!) season in pro basketball. She has been regularly called to the Angolan Senior National Team since 2017.
Lucas is quite experienced player. She has played in nine different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Africa and of course North America). Lucas has played previously professionally in Hungary (Miskolc), Iraq (Akkad and Ghaz Al-Shamal), Israel (Hertzliya), Kuwait (Qurain), Qatar (Al Gharafa), Romania (Satu Mare), Spain (Hondarribia-Irun, IDK Euskotren and Girona), Rwanda (APR BBC Kigali) and Egypt (Al Ahly and Heliopolis).
She won Qatari League championship title in 2024.
It's very possible she may end her playing career at Azour.
