Lebanese WLBL round 5 best performance: Madjiguene Sene

Senegalese Center Madjiguene Sene (197-C-1994) had a very impressive game in the last round for Sporting Bkennaya, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5.
The 30-year old player had a double-double of 31 points and 12 rebounds, while her team outclassed, the league's bottom-ranked team Antranik (#10, 0-7) with 37-point margin 88-51. Sporting B. is placed at 5th position in Lebanese WLBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Sporting B. will need more victories to improve their 4-3 record. In the team's last game Sene had a remarkable 86.7% from 2-point range. She just recently signed at Sporting B., being already a very valuable addition to the team. Madjiguene Sene has solid league stats. She is in league's top in points (4th best: 19.0ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 12.8rpg) and averages impressive 2.8bpg and 51.7% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was another Sporting B.'s star - young American Tynice Martin (180-G-1997). Martin had a very good evening with 29 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course together with Sene she helped Sporting Bkennaya with another comfortable win outscoring Antranik (#10, 0-7) 88-51. This victory allowed Sporting B. to move up to 5th position in the standings. Her team lost some distance to top teams. But a 4-3 record is not bad and everything may still change. Martin is one of the most experienced players at Sporting B. and similarly like Madjiguene Sene has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 11.0ppg (#2). Her other stats are also decent: 10.0rpg and 9.0apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was Brazilian guard Rebecca Akl (170-PG-1992) of league's second-best Sporting Al Riyadi Beirut. Akl showcased her all-around game by recording 19 points, 7 rebounds and 14 assists (!!!) in the last round. She was a key player of Al Riyadi, leading her team to a 99-60 easy win against #3 ranked Homentmen A. in a game of the week. Al Riyadi is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 6-1 record is not that bad... Akl has a great season in Lebanon. After only 5 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 6.2apg (2nd best). Rebecca Akl has also Lebanese passport and can play in the league with a status of domestic player.
