Al Gharafa lands Aida Bakhos, ex Club Beirut- March 8, 2024

Al Gharafa (D1) signed 37-year-old Lebanese international forward Aida Bakhos, who stands at 178cm and played college basketball at Lamar. Bakhos most recently played for Club Beirut in the Lebanese WLBL, where she averaged 10.9ppg, 8.9rpg, 3.4apg, and 1.5spg in 24 games last season. She was named League Player of the Week during the season. Bakhos has also played for Akkad in the Iraqi league.
She represented Lebanon at the FIBA Asia Cup for Women in Sydney (Australia) last year. Bakhos' team won Bronze and her stats at that event were 4 games: 7.5ppg, 5.3rpg, 1.8apg, 1.0spg, FGP: 29.2%, 3PT: 33.3%, FT: 81.3%. She's a very experienced player, having played professionally in Germany (Rheinland), Iraq, and Saudi Arabia (Al Ahli). Thanks to pro basketball, she's experienced life in four different countries on three different continents. She's familiar with European, Asian, and North American leagues. Her team won the Mediterranean Cup in 2019. She was selected to the Eurobasket.com Mediterranean Cup All-Defensive Team in 2018. She is close to retirement age as a player and it may be one of her last seasons in her extensive career, which she may end at Al Gharafa.
