Best players of Lebanese WLBL round 16

Rachelle Aoun had an amazing evening in the last round for NSA and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 16.
The had a double-double of 16 points and 14 rebounds, while her team edged out Hoops (#6, 8-10) 49-45. NSA maintains the 8th position in Lebanese WLBL. The season is in a full swing, so it's only a dream for the team to make it into top half of the standings. For contrary they may face relegation if the situation turns from bad to worse. NSA have already lost 13 games and recorded just five victories. It was one of impressive evenings for Aoun as usually she does not deliver so high stats. Rachelle Aoun averages this season 4.6ppg and 7.8rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was Sabine Fakherddine of Chiyah. Fakherddine impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 14 points and 13 rebounds. Bad luck as Chiyah lost that game 62-73 to slightly higher-ranked Almtayleb (#7, 6-11). Chiyah managed to keep the same 9th spot in the standings. 15 lost games are too many comparing to just three victories Chiyah managed to get this year. Fakherddine is a newcomer at Chiyah and despite she is not a team leader yet, every game she becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

The third best performed player last round was Brazilian guard Rebecca Akl (170-PG-1992) of second-ranked Sporting Al Riyadi Beirut. Akl showcased her all-around game by recording 21 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists in the last round. Despite Akl's great performance the Al Riyadi lost 66-68 to #1 ranked Club Beirut. But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. Al Riyadi had another "accident". It may be a crucial game and cause dropping from the group of top ranked teams. The record is still good, but 2nd lost game is hopefully really an accident. Akl's teammates are also very good. That's why having such high stats is even more impressive. Akl has a great season in Lebanon. After 16 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.8ppg (3rd best) and assists with 6.6apg (best passer). She also has 3.1spg and a FGP of 52.7%. Rebecca Akl has also Lebanese passport and can play in the league with a status of domestic player.
