The most exciting game of round 16 in the WLBL took place in Beirut. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of their biggest opponent Al Riyadi (15-2) to top-ranked Club Beirut (18-0) 68-66 in the game for the first place. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Al Riyadi. They outrebounded Al Riyadi 39-26 including 28 on the defensive glass. The former international Nathalie Sevadjian (170-1988) fired 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. The former international forward Aida Bakhos (178-1986, college: Lamar) chipped in 12 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international point guard Rebecca Akl (170-1992) produced 21 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for lost side. Undefeated Club Beirut have an impressive 18-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 18-0 record. Al Riyadi at the other side keeps the second place with two games lost.
The game in was also worth to mention about. 6th ranked Hoops (8-10) played at the court of eighth ranked NSA (5-13). NSA managed to secure a 4-point victory 49-45. Worth to mention a great performance of Rachelle Aoun who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks. Jana Ghossain contributed with 14 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Lara Nakib replied with 16 points and 5 rebounds for Hoops. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted NSA maintains eighth position with 5-13 record. Hoops at the other side dropped to the fifth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Antranik.
The game with biggest result difference took place in Antelias. Local Homentmen (14-3) outscored 5th ranked Antranik (8-10) 66-44 on Friday night. Worth to mention a quality performance of Perla Nasr who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side Stephany Haddad responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds. Homentmen have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 14-3 record having five points less than leader Club Beirut. Loser Antranik B. keeps the fifth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Hoops.
In the last two games of round 16 Chiyah was defeated by Almtayleb in a road game 73-62. Champs beat Taadod at home 41-33.
