An interesting game for Homentmen (8-1) which played road game in Beirut against 4th ranked Hoops (5-5). Third ranked Homentmen had an easy win 64-48. Homentmen forced 23 Hoops turnovers. Perla Nasr orchestrated the victory by scoring 28 points and 5 rebounds. Patil Assadourian (174-2004) contributed with 17 points and 4 steals for the winners. Maryam Jomaa replied with 23 points and 5 rebounds for Hoops. Homentmen have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Al Riyadi. Hoops at the other side dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. They share it with Antranik. Homentmen is looking forward to face NSA (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hoops will play against Almtayleb (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
NSA's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after eight consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Taadod (1-9) 39-31. Worth to mention a great performance of Jana Ghossain who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 11 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists and Zeina El Hajj who added 8 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Sandra Sleiman responded with 5 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. NSA (1-8) left bottom position moving up to ninth place. It was Taadod's seventh loss in a row. Taadod at the other side, also newcomer in the league, stay at the bottom position with nine games lost. NSA will play against higher ranked Homentmen (#3) in Antelias in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Taadod will play at home against the league's leader Club Beirut (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
The game in was also quite interesting. Sixth ranked Champs (5-4) played at the court of 8th ranked Chiyah (2-8). Champs managed to secure a 5-point victory 46-41 on Wednesday. The winners were led by Nancy Maalouf who had that evening a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Even a double-double of 11 points and 16 rebounds by Sabine Fakherddine did not help to save the game for Chiyah. Champs moved-up to fourth place. Chiyah at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the eighth position with eight games lost. Champs will meet at home Antranik (#5) in the next round. Chiyah will play against the league's second-placed Al Riyadi in Beirut and hope to secure a win.
In the last two games of round 8 Almtayleb was beaten by Antranik on the road 74-60. Bottom-ranked Taadod was destroyed by Al Riyadi on its own court 26-70.
The most impressive performance of 8th round was 25 points and 5 rebounds by Reem El Ghali of Al Riyadi.
