Akl's double-double lands her Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

31-year old BRA-LEBn point guard Rebecca Akl (170-PG-1992) had a very impressive game in the last round for second-ranked Sporting Al Riyadi Beirut and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5.
She had a double-double of 23 points and 11 rebounds, while her team outclassed Almtayleb (#7, 2-4) with 39-point margin 88-49. Al Riyadi maintains the 2nd position in Lebanese WLBL. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Al Riyadi already had a very good start winning all 6 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Akl had a remarkable 76.9% from 2-point range. She turned to be Al Riyadi's top player in her first season with the team. Akl has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (4th best: 15.0ppg) and averages solid 3.0spg and 62.8% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Serena Hachem of Antranik Beirut. She is a in her first season at Antranik B.. In the last game Hachem recorded impressive 20 points and 9 rebounds. Of course Antranik cruised to a 51-44 relatively comfortable win over slightly higher-ranked Hoops (#4, 4-3). This victory allowed Antranik to move up to 6th position in the standings. Her team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-4 record. Hachem is a newcomer at Antranik and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 13.0ppg (#9). She also registered 6.9 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Yasmine Lahoud (SG) of Hoops Club (#4). Lahoud scored 16 points and grabbed fourteen rebounds (!!!). Despite Lahoud's great performance Hoops lost 44-51 to slightly lower-ranked Antranik B. (#6, 3-4). But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Hoops needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 4 victories and 3 lost games. Lahoud has a great season in Lebanon. After only 7 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 10.9rpg (2nd best).
