WLBL Round 1 (Regular Season): Hoops Club lose to Homentmen Antelias

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Hoops in Antelias on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by Homentmen 55-43. Perla Ghattas stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and Perla Nasr chipped in 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side Yasmine Lahoud responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Homentmen A. is looking forward to face NSA in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hoops will play against Almtayleb and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Important game to mention about took place in . Almtayleb saved a 3-point victory at home edging Antranik 63-60 on Tuesday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Mathilda Khalil nailed 25 points and 7 steals for the winning side and Catharina Imad accounted for 14 points and 11 rebounds. Almtayleb's coach Nelly Nassar allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Serena Hachem came up with 23 points and 7 rebounds for Antranik in the defeat. Almtayleb will play against Hoops in Beirut in the next round. Antranik will play against Champs to get more than just one victory in their record.
The game in supposed to be also quite interesting. Club Beirut played at the court of NSA. Club Beirut smashed NSA 85-41 on Monday. Daniella Fayad fired a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Jana Ghossain produced 8 points for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Very expected game in Beirut where Taadod was crushed by Al Riyadi 77-35 on Sunday. Al Riyadi shot 20 for 30 from the free-throw line, while Taadod only scored four points from the stripe. Al Riyadi forced 26 Taadod turnovers and outrebounded them 45-32 including a 37-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. Al Riyadi looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Taadod's players.
