Piratas add Majok to their roster

Ater Majok

Newly promoted Piratas de la Guaira (SPB) added to their roster experienced 35-year old Lebanese-South Sudanese international center Ater Majok (210cm-106kg-1987, college: UConn). Majok played last season at Al Morog in Libyan D1 league. The last season he played at US Monastir in Tunisian league where in 8 Basketball Africa League games he recorded 13.6ppg, 10.9rpg (leader !!!), 2.0apg and 2.5bpg. He helped them to win the Basketball Africa League championship. Majok also played for Ezzahra Sports (ProA) in Tunisian league. He contributed to his team winning the league title and the cup. Majok also spent pre-season at Beirut Club (LBL) in Lebanon.
In 2011 (a year after his graduation) he was drafted by Los Angeles Lakers (NBA) in second round (58th overall). He graduated from University of Connecticut in 2010 and it will be his 13th (hopefully lucky) season in pro basketball.
Majok also represented Lebanon at the Gulf Coast Championship Semifinals four years ago.
He is quite experienced player. Majok's career allowed him to visit five different continents, while he played in twelve different countries. Majok tasted the life as pro basketball player in Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa and of course North America. He has played previously professionally in Australia (New Zealand Breakers), Bahrain (Al-Muharraq), Belarus, China (Shaanxi, Beijing and Hainan Haixiang), Germany (BG Goettingen), Korea, Poland (Trefl), Qatar (Al Arabi), Slovakia (Nitra), Taiwan (Taiwan Beer), Turkey and Lebanon (Sagesse, Homentmen and Champville).
