Top ranked Champville (11-3) recorded its third loss on the court of fourth ranked Beirut Club on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Beirut Club 90-79. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Champville. Beirut Club made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Beirut Club had a 30-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American guard Chris Crawford (193-92, college: Memphis) fired 21 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Georgian power forward Nikoloz Tskitishvili (213-83, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 20 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws). Beirut Club's coach Patrick Saba used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international forward Fadi El-Khatib (198-79) produced 21 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Beirut Club (10-4) have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position. Champville at the other side still keeps top place with three games lost.
Seventh-ranked Al Moutahed (4-9) made lots of trouble for fourth ranked Al Riyadi (10-3) in Tripoli. The visitors from Beirut managed to secure only two-point victory 81-79. However their fans expected easier game. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized Egyptian power forward Ahmad Ismail (205-76) who helped to win the game recording 28 points. Jean Abdel-Nour contributed with 17 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Marvelle Harris (196-93, college: Fresno St., agency: Slash Sports) replied with 18 points and 4 assists for Al Moutahed. Al Riyadi moved-up to second place, which they share with Homentmen. Al Moutahed at the other side keeps the seventh position with nine games lost. They share it with Atlas F..
The game with biggest result difference took place in Zahle. Local Atlas F. (4-9) lost to seventh ranked Byblos (5-9) 84-71 on Wednesday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Atlas F.. Worth to mention a quality performance of Aaron Nelson who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 17 rebounds. Byblos' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side Ghassan Nehme responded with 25 points and 4 assists. Byblos moved-up to fifth place. Newly promoted Atlas F. dropped to the seventh position with nine games lost. They share it with Moutahed.
