Coincidentally all hosts won their games. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Homentmen as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Homentmen defeated 7th ranked Al Moutahed in Beirut 71-66. Homentmen made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. Nigerian-American guard Michael Efevberha (193-84, college: CS Northridge, agency: Octagon Europe) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). The former international forward Patrick Bou-Abboud (199-87) contributed with 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Marvelle Harris (196-93, college: Fresno St., agency: Slash Sports) replied with 23 points and 5 rebounds for Al Moutahed. Homentmen have a solid four-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Champville. Al Moutahed lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth place with eight games lost. Al Moutahed will play next round against Sagesse trying to get back on the winning streak. Homentmen will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Champville in Dik El Mehdi.
The game between seventh ranked Atlas F. (4-8) and 9th ranked Sagesse (1-10) in Zahle ended with biggest points difference. Atlas F. outscored guests from Beirut 103-78. American power forward Darian Townes (208-84, college: Arkansas) had a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) to lead the charge for the winners and Joseph Zaloum chipped in 11 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists during the contest. Atlas F.'s coach Elie Nasr felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. International Aziz Abdel-Massih (-96) responded with 25 points. Atlas F. moved-up to sixth place. Sagesse lost ninth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. Atlas F. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Sagesse will play at home against Al Moutahed (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last game of round 14 Byblos were beaten by Beirut Club on the road 83-76.



Atlas F. - Sagesse 103-78

Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Sagesse's players. American power forward Darian Townes (208-84, college: Arkansas) had a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Joseph Zaloum (180-90) chipped in 11 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists during the contest. American forward Aaron Nelson (205-91, college: S.Indiana) responded with 29 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Malcolm Riley (196-93, college: Texas Southern) scored 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Beirut Club have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 8-4 record. Byblos lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh place with nine games lost. Coincidentally all hosts won their games. Here is the last round review presented by ESL. The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Beirut: Beirut Club (#4) and Homentmen (#3). Beirut Club (11-4) won against visiting Homentmen (11-4) 86-81. Beirut Club looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. AARON NELSON 27-year old forward Aaron Nelson (205-F-91) put on an amazing game in the last round for Byblos and receives a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 17. He had a double-double of 27 points and 19 rebounds, while his team beat Moutahed (#8, 4-10) 84-76. Byblos is placed at 5th position in Lebanese league.
