Homentmen Antelias welcome back Leuchanka - Feb 13, 2019

Homentmen Antelias (WLBL) tabbed experienced 35-year old Belarusian international center Yelena Leuchanka (196-88kg-83, college: W.Virginia). It is actually her comeback to Antelias as she has played here before. Leuchanka started the season at Sichuan in Chinese WCBA. In 34 games she averaged impressive 22.8ppg, 16.8rpg, 3.1apg and 1.5spg this season. She was also selected League Player of the Week (3 times). The last season Leuchanka played at Homentmen. She helped them to win the Lebanese League title.
In 2007 (a year after she left the college) Leuchanka was drafted by Houston Comets (WNBA) in first round (8th overall).
The former West Virginia University standoutis in her 13th (hopefully lucky) season in pro basketball.
Among other achievements Leuchanka received All-Chinese WCBA 2nd Team award in 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018.
She has been also a member of Belarusian international program for some years. Leuchanka has regularly played for Belarusian senior team since 2003 and previously for U20 National Team in 2002.
She represented Belarus at the Qualifications to European Championships 2017 three years ago. Her stats at that event were 3 games: 11.7ppg, 7.7rpg, 1.0apg, 1.0bpg, FGP: 59.1%, FT: 64.3%.
Leuchanka is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball she experienced life in eight different countries playing on three different continents. She is familiar with European, Asian and of course North American leagues. Leuchanka has played previously professionally also in Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Slovakia (Good Angels), Spain, Turkey (Istanbul Uni, Galatasaray and Yakin Dogu) and WNBA (Connecticut Sun).
She is close to retirement age as a player. It may be one of last seasons in her extensive career, which she may end at Homentmen Antelias.
Let's have closer look into Leuchanka's outlook: One of the premier players in the game for long time, she's completely skilled, has yet a solid body and a great personality, serving any game as the vocal leader and leading his team at both ends of the court.

Flint Lady Monarchs (GWBA) strengthened their roster with addition of 25-year old American center Shareta Brown(187-F/C-93, college: Wayne St., MI). She played most recently at Sporting Club Chabibeh in Lebanon. In 15 games she averaged an impressive 26.9 points per game along with a league best 16.2 rebounds per game. Aida Bakhos (ex Al Riyadi) joins B.Loewen for 2019 Liga Mediterranean Cup - 3 months ago
SG Bergishe Loewen (Germany) strengthened their roster for the summer with the addition of 32-year old Lebanese guard Aida Bakhos (178-86, college: Lamar). She started the season at Al Riyadi in Lebanese WLBL. She helped them to win the League title despite they ended the regular season at the second place. They also played in the Supercup final.
