Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Homentmen (3-1) in Tripoli on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by fifth ranked Al Moutahed (2-2) 78-72. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Homentmen. Al Moutahed made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Marvelle Harris (196-93, college: Fresno St., agency: Slash Sports) who helped to win the game recording 27 points. Guard Jimmy Salem (190-95) contributed with 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American power forward Chris Johnson (210-85, college: LSU) replied with 18 points and 6 rebounds for Homentmen. Al Moutahed maintains fifth position with 2-2 record, which they share with Atlas F. Defending champion Homentmen dropped to the third place with one game lost. They share the position with Al Riyadi. Al Moutahed is looking forward to face Sagesse (#7) in Beirut in the next round. Homentmen will play at home against the league's second-placed Champville (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Another exciting game for Atlas F. (2-2) which played in Beirut against Sagesse (1-3). Sixth ranked Atlas F. won 104-99. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Ghassan Nehme (190, college: Fair Dickinson) who helped to win the game recording 26 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Darian Townes who added 25 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Canadian power forward Keanau Post (211-92, college: Missouri) responded with 22 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Atlas F. moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Moutahed. Sagesse lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. Atlas F. will play against higher ranked Al Riyadi (#3) in Beirut in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Sagesse will play on the road against Al Moutahed (#5) in Tripoli and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Kyle Hunt fired a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Beirut Club's coach Patrick Saba allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Beirut Club have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Champville. Byblos at the other side dropped to the eighth place with four games lost. Beirut Club's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Beirut Hoops Club.

The most impressive performance of 4th round was 23 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists by Ali Haidar of Beirut Club.



Hoops - Champville 71-90

LBL top team - Champville (4-1) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Hoops Club (0-5) in Beirut 90-71. It was a great shooting night for Champville especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. The winners were led by the former international forward Fadi El-Khatib (198-79) who scored that evening 32 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Dewayne Jackson (203-90, college: Morgan St., agency: Higher Vision Sports) supported him with 33 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds. Even 12 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists by Ali Mansour (-98) did not help to save the game for Hoops Club. Senegalese forward Ibrahima Thomas (213-87, college: Cincinnati) added 13 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Champville maintains first position with 4-1 record, which they share with Beirut Club. Newly promoted Hoops Club still closes the standings with five games lost. Champville will meet Homentmen (#4) in the next round. Hoops Club's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Beirut to the arena Beirut Club.

The game in Byblos was also worth to mention about. Second ranked Beirut Club (4-1) played at the court of 7th ranked Byblos (1-4). Beirut Club defeated Byblos 82-72. Beirut Club dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Byblos' 32. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American-Jamaican power forward Kyle Hunt (208-89, college: Oklahoma S&A, agency: Octagon Europe) fired a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. The former international forward Ali Haidar (201-90, college: Michigan Tech) chipped in a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Beirut Club's coach Patrick Saba allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Aaron Nelson (205-91, college: S.Indiana) produced 21 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and his fellow American import forward Malcolm Riley (196-93, college: Texas Southern) added 20 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Beirut: Beirut Club (#4) and Homentmen (#3). Beirut Club (11-4) won against visiting Homentmen (11-4) 86-81.
