Antranik Beirut shock the number one ranked team in the WLBL Friday night at home. The home team upset Homenetmen 60-56 giving the top seed their first loss of the season. I was quoted at the start of the season with "Antranik Beirut was the sleeper of the league". The historic ball club continues to improve as the season proceeds. This marks a great time in the season to play their best basketball. The club was led by star import Faith Randolph (178-G, college: Virginia). She put together a spectacular game scoring 25 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Import center Anita Teilane (195-C-85, agency: LBM Management) marked yet another double- double with 11 points, 17 rebounds and 7 blocks. National Team member Nancy Maalouf (174-F-88) added 15 points.

Homenetmen top performers continue to be Rebecca Akl (169-G-92), April Sykes (182-G/F-90, college: Rutgers) and Vicky McIntyre (201-C-92, college: ORU). April Sykes led the visiting team with 18 points while Akl added 16. Import center added yet another double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds in a losing effort.

Antranik Beirut now move to 9-3 in the Second Stage. WLBL Final Four will start Early March.
