Roneeka
Hodges
Sporting Al Riyadi Beirut (Division I) added to their roster experienced 35-year old American guard Roneeka Hodges (180-75kg-82, college: Florida State). She played last season at Mann Filter in Spanish LFB league. In 21 games she was the best scorer with impressive 16.9ppg and had 3.1rpg and 2.6apg.
The previous (15-16) season Hodges played at Aluinvent DVTK Miskolc in Hungarian A Division where in 12 games she recorded 10.3ppg, 4.0rpg, 1.4apg and 1.0spg. She helped them to win the cup and make to league semifinals. Hodges also played 2 games in Eurocup where she averaged 10.0ppg, 2.5rpg and 1.5apg.
Her team won Spanish LFB Supercup in 2013.
Hodges is quite experienced player. Thanks to her pro career she managed to play on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America) in eight different countries. Hodges has played previously professionally in Brazil (Corinthians/Americana and Maranhao), France, Israel, Poland, Turkey (Istanbul Uni and Adana ASKI Mersin), WNBA (Indiana Fever, Dallas Wings, San Antonio Silver Stars and Atlanta Dream) and South Korea (Winnus).
She is close to retirement age as a player. It's very possible she may end her playing career at Al Riyadi.
Hodges attended Florida State until 2005 and it will be her 13th (hopefully lucky) (!!!) season as a professional player.
The scouts decsribe her following way: Rooneka is a 180 cm tall wing player, that can cover the shooting guard and small forward position. She can score with multiple ways and be a leader for any team. Ron is shooting for mid and wide range and she is a great penetrator. She is a good ball handler and a good rebounder. A very coachable and experienced player.

Sporting Al Riyadi Beirut roster for 2017-2018:

Roneeka Hodges
