HAKIM WARRICK

Ironi Nahariya (Winner League) inked experienced 35-year old American power forward Hakim Warrick (206-99kg-82, college: Syracuse). He started the season at played at Moutahed in Lebanese LBL league. In 11 games he averaged impressive 20.5ppg, 8.6rpg and 2.8apg this season. This summer Warrick played at Leones in Puerto Rican league where in three LBL games he had 9.7ppg, 4.7rpg and 1.7apg.
Among other achievements his team made it to the Liga Americas Semifinals in 2017. Warrick received also Latinbasket.com All-Liga Americas Forward of the Year award in 2017.
He is a very experienced player. Warrick has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to five different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America, Australia and of course North America). Warrick has played previously professionally in Australia (United), China (Flying Leopards), Greece (Olympiacos), Turkey (Konyaspor) and NBA (New Orleans Pelicans, Chicago Bulls, Milwaukee Bucks, Phoenix Suns and Memphis Grizzlies).
He is close to retirement age as a player. It may be one of last seasons in his extensive career, which he may end at Ironi Nahariya.
Warrick attended Syracuse University until 2005 and it is his 13th (hopefully lucky) (!!!) season in pro basketball.
His game is described as: An incredibly skilled athlete; a ferocius rebounder and slasher, even if his future is on the perimeter, and needs to improve his outside shooting; even his defense is so-so and needs of further improving;
Outlook (by NBADraft.TK):
Positives: An incredible athlete with great leaping ability. Plays above the rim and is a very quick jumper. Capable of highlight reel finishes. Possesses long arms and a wingspan of a seven footer. Crashes the boards well on the offensive end and chases down all the rebounds on the defensive end. Warrick also has a developing offensive game, including a good turnaround jumper. Moves his pivot foot well and uses various moves to operate in the paint. Has great potential and has worked very hard to improve his game.
Negatives: Warrick isn't a really good shooter, He will really need to improve his shooting to become a quality NBA small forward. His three point range is nonexistent, and his overall shooting needs work. Needs to work a lot on his ball handling, he looks very awkward putting the ball on the floor. Warrick needs to get stronger and gain weight to compete in the NBA. Is a bit of a tweener, as he has a power forward skill's with a small forward's body. Doesn't really block as many shots as one would imagine. With his ability Warrick should at least be blocking 2 per game at the college level
