Fadi El
Khatib
Champville (Pepsi LBL) tabbed experienced 38-year old international swingman Fadi El Khatib (198-105kg-79). It is actually his comeback to Dik El Mehdi as he has played here before. El Khatib played most recently at Homenetmen in Lebanese Pepsi LBL. In 31 games he was second best scorer with impressive 24.5ppg and recorded 5.6rpg and 3.3apg last season. He helped them to win the regular season and make it to the final. He can count that season as a very successful as was awarded Asia-Basket.com All-Lebanese League Player of the Year, Domestic Player of the Year and Forward of the Year. El Khatib also spent pre-season at Al Riyadi that year. A very impressive season as he was awarded Asia-Basket.com All-Lebanese League Player of the Year, Domestic Player of the Year and Forward of the Year.
Among other achievements he won Lebanese League championship title in 2098, 2099, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2009, 2012, 2015 and 2016.
El Khatib also represented Lebanon at the West Asia Basketball Championships in Amman (Jordan) this year. His team won Gold and his stats at that event were 4 games: Score-1 (22.8ppg), 6.0rpg, 2.3apg, Steals-3 (2.5spg), FGP: 55.6%, 3PT: 27.8%, FT: 66.7%.
El Khatib is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball he experienced life in four different countries playing on three different continents. El Khatib has played previously professionally also in China (Sturgeons), Syria (Al Ittihad), Ukraine (Cherkasy) and Lebanon (Sagesse, Blue Stars and Amchit).
It may be one of last seasons in his extensive career, which he may end at Champville.
Let's have closer look into El Khatib's outlook: Probably the top prospect in his country. Great one-on-one scorer; scores in and out; great athleticism and wing span; Big time player. After Yao Ming (Houston Rockets), Fadi is arguably the next best prospect in Asia. Possesses an incredible combination of size, strength, quickness and athleticism. A scoring machine! Scores any way he wants to. .great 3pt shooter; excellent penetrator; great post moves. A tremendous one-on-one player who can dominate a game. Can get his own shot or come off screens. Great body and leaping ability. will dunk all over defense. Incredible wing span. .good rebounder and defender. His game keeps improving every season.
After FIBA World Championships in Indianapolis, Many NBA scouts were impressed with his shooting range , strength, athletic ability, physical and mental toughness.
