Antranik Champion for the 6th consecutive year
Antranik - Beirut
retained its Championship Title for the 6th consecutive season after wining the
third game in the Final series against Homentmen - Antelias on the score of
71-45.
Demirdjian Center saw a record for the number of fans who have attended the
game. The home team started the game very focused with a goal to end the series
and secure the precious title , the first quarter saw the dominance of Antranik
players who led form the first minutes and finished the quarter on the score of
17-10.
In the second quarter Homentmen - Antelias started its come back and managed to
tie the game and to have the lead 25-24 beofre 1 minute from the half , but
Antranik who missed Nayla Alammeddine in this quarter due to her quick foul
problems knew how to finish the 2nd quarter having the lead , 26-25.
In the 3rd quarter Antranik - Beirut players started to dominate on the both
ends of the court and started cursing to an easy victory through a great team
work , Nayla Alammeddine ,
Tamara Khalil (185-F-86) , Nisrin Dandan and Chada Nasr scored from
everywhere and they outscored Homentmen 27-09 , the reason for this big run is
the Box and One Defense applied on Sandra Najem. The score at the end of the
third was 53-34.
In the 4th quarter the same tempo continued and the Antranik players continued
their dominance and made the difference go bigger and bigger to reach the 30
points , In the last 5 minutes the two coaches gave the chance for the young
players to have the Finals feeling. The final score in the end was 71-45.
By wining this title Antranik - Beirut won its 06th consecutive championship
title , they tied the record of Sagesse - Beirut in the Men's Championship (
from 1999 till 2004) , and the 09th in the past 11 years. The wining games
streak is now 94 games without any loss since the season 2002-2003.
Antranik - Beirut now will be heading next Friday to Aleppo - Syria to
participate in the West Asian Champions Cup for Women which will be held from
April 13 to 18.And in June they will have another task to defend their Arab
Title , which they hold fr the past two years.

Team is marking the history year after year, retaining the Arab
Championship for the past two consecutive seasons and Wining the WABA
Champions Cup made this team a very special one .
Antranik - Beirut won the only missing Title in its records the WABA
Championship , in the Final they bear the Home Team Jalaa who had a good
tournament , and reached the final after beating Yarmouk in the semi
Final on the score of 70-60 .On the other hand the Arab Champions had a
very bad semi final game against Zanan from Iran in which they managed t
have a difficult win on the score of 68-57.
The Jalaa club stadium was full with fans for the final game , and it
was obvious Antranik's players had the big intention and concentration
to win this precious Title , the first quarter saw a small dominance
from The Lebanese Champions but the Syrian players were answering to try
to keep the game a close one , the first quarter finished on the score
of 18-7.
In the second the Antranik machine took off and never look back , they
dominate the tempo and outscored the home team 19-10, to have a very
comfortable lead at the break , the score was 37-17.
In the third the same tempo continued and the difference was too big in
the end of the third , the margin reached somewhere during the third
quarter to 35 points , the third quarter finished on the score of 64-36.
In the fourth quarter coach Rizkallah Zaloum rested his players and
gave the chance to all of his players to have minutes in this
continental win , the concentration was reduced with each minute closer
to the end and the difference was reduce to finish in the end on the
score of 81-60.
By adding this title Antranik - Beirut confirmed to status being the
only Lebanese women's team to record 3 Arab and Continental titles in
the history of the Lebanese Women's Basketball.
Antranik - Beirut now will start its preparations to retain its Arab
crown for the third consecutive year in Amman - Jordan .
Antranik Beirut wins the Lebanese Cup
Antranik Beirut won the
lebanese cup competition after winning the final game against Homenetmen
Antelias with the final score 82-48. The game that was held in Fouad Chehab
Stadium infront of a large crowd saw Antranik Beirut get a deserved win over
Homenetmen Antelias that were not in their best form. The semi final round of
the championship (Final 4) starts next week where in the first series Antranik
Beirut faces Champville while in the second series Riyadi Beirut faces
Homenetmen Antelias. The team that wins three games out of five will reach the
final round.
