Laos U18 particpated in Yangon at the South East Asian Basketball Association (SEABA) in the 7th SEABA U18 Championship. Philippines, Malaysia, Laos, Singapore, Thailand and Myanmar struggled for two tickets to to represent SEABA in the 21st FIBA Asia U18 Championship to be held in Sanaa Yemen from Sept 22 Oct 1.
In Day 1 Myanmar rolled over Laos 70:62. It was a great game from both sides as the winners grabbed the first victory due to overtime win. Sein Lyan stepped up with 15 points and 4 rebounds. Wai Lu scored 10 points for the winners and Nay Myo Min had 12. Somboun Nadonhai responded with 24 points in the losing effort.
In Day 2 Thailand rolled over Laos 71:44 for their first victory. Patcharaphum Phansura top-scored for the winners with 16 points and Sorot Suntonsiri chipped in with 10 points. Somboun Nadonhai responded with 17 points in the losing effort.
In Day 3 Malaysia produced a 97:53 win over Laos. Phetthasone Chaleunsouk opened the scoring for the game, but that was the lone bright spot for Laos in the game. Somboun Nadonhais game-high 19 points for Laos went in vain. Tan Wai Seng delivered 18 points for the winners. Choo Wei Hong brought his team 17 points and Loh Shee Weng scored 12.
In Day 4 Philippines destroyed Laos 133:30 for the fourth straight win. Six players scored in double digits as Kevin Ferrer (188-F) led them all with 23 points. Souliy Sayyasinh was the highest scorer for Laos with 11 points.
In Day 5 Singapore overcame Laos 76:31 as David Soo scored 16 and Russel Low 13. Somboun Nadonhai nailed 19 points in the losing effort.
