Higher League Round 7: SHUM is defeated by Legion in a derby game

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Bishkek: Legion (#3) and SHUM (#6). SHUM was defeated at home 67-72 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It was a great evening for guard Baish Adiev (192-90) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds. Naturalized Russian guard Emil Kasymaliev (190-89) helped adding 4 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side forward Belek Bektenov (-95) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Legion maintains third place with 3-3 record having just three points less than leader Alga-KTU. SHUM at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost.
Very significant was Alga-KTU's (#1, 6-0) victory against their biggest opponent Dinamo (4-2) 82-64. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Dinamo. It was an exceptional evening for guard Nurtay Subanbekov (185-92) who led the winners and scored 20 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Zhanysh Adiev accounted for 14 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Alga-KTU's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The former international Evgeny Pekhov came up with 25 points and 5 rebounds for Dinamo in the defeat. Undefeated Alga-KTU (6-0) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with a perfect record of 6 victories in a row. Newly promoted Dinamo keeps the second position with two games lost.

Very significant was Alga-KTU's (#1, 6-0) victory against their biggest opponent Dinamo (4-2) 82-64. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Dinamo. They outrebounded Dinamo 56-35 including a 35-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for guard Nurtay Subanbekov (185-92) who led the winners and scored 20 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Guard Zhanysh Adiev (190-90) accounted for 14 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side. Four Alga-KTU players scored in double figures. Alga-KTU's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games.
