Higher League Round 5: Dinamo beat SHUM in a derby game

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Bishkek: Dinamo (#2) and SHUM (#6). Dinamo (3-1) won against visiting SHUM (0-4) 64-59. The best player for the winners was the former international Evgeny Pekhov who scored 27 points and 8 rebounds. Aman Abdykerim (202-94) chipped in 12 points and 17 rebounds. Forward Belek Bektenov (-95) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds for the guests. Newly promoted Dinamo maintains second place with 3-1 record behind leader Alga-KTU. SHUM at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost.

Guard Baish Adiev (192-90) orchestrated the victory by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds. Emil Kasymaliev contributed with 15 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Adylbek Naimanbaev (-1) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 27 rebounds for Politekhnik. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Legion maintains third place with 2-2 record having just two points less than leader Alga-KTU. Politekhnik at the other side keeps the fourth position with three games lost.

Another exciting game was again a derby between two teams from Bishkek: Legion (#3) and Politekhnik (#4). Legion (2-2) crushed visiting Politekhnik (1-3) by 20 points 78-58. Legion forced 28 Politekhnik turnovers. Strangely Politekhnik outrebounded Legion 58-35 including a 27-14 advantage in offensive rebounds. Guard Baish Adiev (192-90) orchestrated the victory by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds. Naturalized Russian guard Emil Kasymaliev (190-89) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Adylbek Naimanbaev (-1) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 27 rebounds and point guard Syimyk Esenaliev (181-0) added 17 points in the effort for Politekhnik.
