Higher League Round 13: Alga beat Legion in a derby game

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Bishkek: Alga (#1) and Legion (#4). Alga (10-1) won against visiting Legion (6-6) 83-75. Alga looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Guard Zhanysh Adiev (190-90) fired 30 points and 8 assists for the winners. Forward Nurbek Aydanbek (196-1) chipped in 26 points. Guard Baish Adiev (192-90) produced 27 points and 4 assists for lost side. Legion's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Alga maintains first place with 10-1 record. Legion at the other side keeps the fourth position with six games lost.
Another exciting game was again a derby between two teams from Bishkek: Gines-29 (#2) and Politekhnik (#6). Gines-29 (9-2) won against visiting Politekhnik (2-9) 75-61. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Nazim Oruchkulov (200-4) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points, 26 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!). Roman Tikhonov contributed with 26 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Gines-29's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. point guard Syimyk Esenaliev (181-0) answered with 22 points and 5 assists for Politekhnik. Gines-29 have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 9-2 record behind leader Alga. Politekhnik at the other side dropped to the fifth position with nine games lost. They share it with Grizzly and SHUM.

Askat Bayanov stepped up with a double-double by scoring 62 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds for the winners. At the losing side Baiel Nogoibaev responded with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Grizzly moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Politekhnik and SHUM. SHUM lost fifth consecutive game.



SHUM - Grizzly 56-102

The game with biggest result difference took place in Bishkek. Local SHUM (2-9) was outscored by seventh ranked Grizzly (2-9) 102-56 on Sunday night. Grizzly dominated down low during the game scoring 88 of its points in the paint compared to SHUM's 40. Grizzly forced 19 SHUM turnovers and outrebounded them 64-32 including a 25-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Askat Bayanov (-87) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 62 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds for the winners and Azamat Rysbekov (-1) chipped in 16 points and 24 rebounds. At the losing side point guard Baiel Nogoibaev (172-4) responded with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Eldar Mamasadykov (-2) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Grizzly moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Politekhnik and SHUM. SHUM lost fifth consecutive game.
