Higher League Round 11: Gines-29 Jr. hand first loss to Alga

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Alga (8-1) in Bishkek on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by third ranked Gines-29 Jr. (7-3) 89-72. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Alga. The game was mostly controlled by Gines-29 Jr.. Alga managed to win fourth quarter 18-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Aman Abdykerim (202-94) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 7 rebounds. point guard Nursultan Adylbek (175-93) contributed with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Forward Nurbek Aydanbek (196-1) answered with 26 points and 6 rebounds for Alga. Gines-29 Jr. have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain third place with 7-3 record behind leader Alga. Newly promoted Alga still keeps top position with one game lost.
Another exciting game for Politekhnik (2-7) which played in Karakol against Grizzly (1-8). Sixth ranked Politekhnik saved the game by a tiny margin of one point 80-79. It was a great evening for power forward Roman Gostishev (197-97) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 18 rebounds. Syimyk Esenaliev helped adding 13 points and 10 assists. Politekhnik's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Elkhan Malaev (-92) responded with 41 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds. Politekhnik moved-up to fifth place. Grizzly lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the seventh position with eight games lost.
Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Bishkek: Legion (#4) and SHUM (#5). SHUM was crushed at home by 24 points 59-83 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It was an exceptional evening for Stas Lukonin who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists. Legion's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kamil Maseitov came up with 14 points and 8 rebounds for SHUM in the defeat. Legion maintains fourth place with 6-4 record. SHUM lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost.

The most impressive performance of 11th round was 16 points, 5 assists and 4 steals by Evgenii Pekhov of Gines-29 Jr..



SHUM - Legion 59-83

Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Bishkek: Legion (#4) and SHUM (#5). SHUM was crushed at home by 24 points 59-83 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. The game without a history. Legion led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for center Stas Lukonin (206-88) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Baish Adiev (192-90) accounted for 34 points (!!!) and 5 assists for the winning side. Legion's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Kamil Maseitov (-2) came up with 14 points and 8 rebounds and forward Belek Bektenov (-95) added 10 points and 10 assists respectively for SHUM in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Legion maintains fourth place with 6-4 record. SHUM lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost.

Grizzly - Politekhnik 79-80

Another exciting game for Politekhnik (2-7) which played in Karakol against Grizzly (1-8). Sixth ranked Politekhnik saved the game by a tiny margin of one point 80-79. Grizzly was ahead by 5 points after three quarters before a 23-17 charge of Politekhnik, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 19 Grizzly turnovers and outrebounded them 51-27 including a 27-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for power forward Roman Gostishev (197-97) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 18 rebounds. Point guard Syimyk Esenaliev (181-0) helped adding 13 points and 10 assists. Four Politekhnik players scored in double figures. Politekhnik's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Elkhan Malaev (-92) responded with 41 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds and Askat Bayanov (-87) scored 9 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Politekhnik moved-up to fifth place.
