Higher League Round 7: Alga hands first defeat to Gines-29

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Gines-29 (5-1) in Bishkek on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Alga (6-0) 72-67. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Gines-29. It was a key game for the top position in the league. They outrebounded Gines-29 52-41 including 16 on the offensive glass. Guard Zhanysh Adiev (190-90) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Zhanarbek Engelsov (185-92) chipped in 12 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Nazim Oruchkulov (200-4) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 15 rebounds for lost side. Undefeated Alga have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Newly promoted Alga maintains first place with 6-0 record. Gines-29 at the other side keeps the second position with one game lost.
Another exciting game was played in Bishkek between sixth ranked SHUM and 5th ranked Politekhnik where SHUM (2-4) crushed Politekhnik (1-5) on the road with 24-point difference 83-59. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Belek Bektenov (-95) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds. Rustam Dzhangirov contributed with 8 points and 19 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Roman Gostishev (197-97) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks for Politekhnik. SHUM moved-up to fifth place. Politekhnik lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. They share it with Grizzly.
The game with biggest result difference took place in Bishkek. Local Gines-29 Jr. (3-3) outscored 7th ranked Grizzly (1-5) 104-69 on Sunday night. Worth to mention a quality performance of Aman Abdykerim who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 7 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Gines-29 Jr.'s coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Elkhan Malaev responded with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 14 rebounds. Gines-29 Jr. moved-up to third place, which they share with Legion. Loser Grizzly dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. They share it with Politekhnik.



Politekhnik - SHUM 59-83

Another exciting game was played in Bishkek between sixth ranked SHUM and 5th ranked Politekhnik where SHUM (2-4) crushed Politekhnik (1-5) on the road with 24-point difference 83-59. SHUM forced 19 Politekhnik turnovers and outrebounded them 59-39 including a 41-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Belek Bektenov (-95) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds. Center Rustam Dzhangirov (-96) contributed with 8 points and 19 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Roman Gostishev (197-97) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks and center Kiril Bloshinskiy (199-1) added 11 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Politekhnik. Gines-29 Jr. dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Grizzly's 40. Gines-29 Jr. forced 25 Grizzly turnovers and outrebounded them 59-47 including a 42-29 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Gines-29 Jr. made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a quality performance of Aman Abdykerim (202-94) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 7 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Swingman Kirill Beloglazov (191-84) helped adding 19 points and 6 rebounds.
