Liga Forward Round 13: Derby game ends with Moy Telefon's defeat of SHUM- February 3, 2020

SHUM - Moy Telefon 55-104 The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Bishkek: Moy Telefon (#2) and SHUM (#7). SHUM was crushed at home by 49 points 55-104 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Moy Telefon dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to SHUM's 24. Moy Telefon forced 30 SHUM turnovers and outrebounded them 52-30 including a 23-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Zhanysh Adiev (190-90) who helped to win the game recording 45 points (!!!), 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 6 steals. Center Andrei Pashenko (198-86) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Moy Telefon's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Belek Bektenov (-95) answered with 19 points and 6 rebounds and the former international center Nikita Boyko added 10 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for SHUM. Moy Telefon have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion maintains second place with 8-1 record having 2 victories less than leader Guiness-29. SHUM lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with ten games lost. Politekhnik was defeated at home 71-81 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Politekhnik. The game was mostly controlled by Guiness-29. Politekhnik was better in fourth quarter 17-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Guiness-29 dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Politekhnik's 24. The former international guard Shakirzhan Kuranbaev (170-84) stepped up and scored 24 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists (made all of his ten free throws !!!) for the winners and forward Evgenii Pekhov (198-92) chipped in 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side Roman Gostishev (197-97) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 18 rebounds and point guard Syimyk Esenaliev (181-0) scored 17 points. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Guiness-29 (10-1) have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place. Politekhnik at the other side dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. Legion (7-3) crushed visiting Guiness-29 Jr. (5-6) by 36 points 101-65. The game without a history. Legion led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Guiness-29 Jr.'s 38. Legion forced 19 Guiness-29 Jr. turnovers and outrebounded them 46-32 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Center Stas Lukonin (206-88) nailed 30 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and Aleksei Batskih (205-73) accounted for 18 points, 13 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Point guard Azim Cholonbaev (162-1) came up with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 5 assists and swingman Kirill Beloglazov (191-84) added 8 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Guiness-29 Jr. in the defeat. Legion moved-up to third place. Guiness-29 Jr. at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fifth position with six games lost.
