Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The most shocking disappointment of round 8 was a home defeat of bottom-ranked Grizzly (0-6) by eighth ranked SHUM (1-5) who outscored them by 15 points 77-62. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 42-24 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. SHUM dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Grizzly's 40. They outrebounded Grizzly 58-34 including a 24-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Alexander Planin (190-94) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists and center Garri Trulev (-98) who added 15 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Elkhan Malaev (-92) responded with 8 points and 14 rebounds. SHUM left bottom position moving up to sixth place. It was Grizzly's sixth loss in a row. They still close the standings with six games lost.
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Bishkek: Moy Telefon (#3) and Politekhnik (#5). Moy Telefon (5-1) won against visiting Politekhnik (4-3) 92-81. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Politekhnik. The winners were led by guard Zhanysh Adiev (190-90) who scored that evening 41 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and Roman Tolstikov supported him with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Even 28 points and 8 assists by point guard Syimyk Esenaliev (181-0) did not help to save the game for Politekhnik. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion moved-up to second place. Politekhnik at the other side dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Guiness-29 Jr..
Another interesting game was again a derby between two local teams from Bishkek: Guiness-29 (#1) and Guiness-29 Jr. (#4). Guiness-29 (6-1) won against visiting Guiness-29 Jr. (4-3) 67-58. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Guiness-29 Jr.. The best player for the winners was Shakirzhan Kuranbaev who scored 26 points and 6 assists. Guiness-29's coach used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Temirlan Kapakov produced 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the guests. Guiness-29 have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 6-1 record. Newly promoted Guiness-29 Jr. keeps the fourth place with three games lost. They share the position with Politekhnik.



Moy Telefon - Politekhnik 92-81

Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Bishkek: Moy Telefon (#3) and Politekhnik (#5). Moy Telefon (5-1) won against visiting Politekhnik (4-3) 92-81. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Politekhnik. It looked good early as Politekhnik took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Moy Telefon had a 32-11 second period charge getting the lead and Politekhnik was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 81-92. Moy Telefon made 16-of-18 charity shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 23 Politekhnik turnovers. The winners were led by guard Zhanysh Adiev (190-90) who scored that evening 41 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and Roman Tolstikov (183-93) supported him with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Even 28 points and 8 assists by point guard Syimyk Esenaliev (181-0) did not help to save the game for Politekhnik. Roman Gostishev (197-97) added 13 points and 12 rebounds for the guests. Four Politekhnik players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion moved-up to second place. Politekhnik at the other side dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Guiness-29 Jr..

Another interesting game was again a derby between two local teams from Bishkek: Guiness-29 (#1) and Guiness-29 Jr. (#4). Guiness-29 (6-1) won against visiting Guiness-29 Jr. (4-3) 67-58. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Guiness-29 Jr.. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 15-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 67-58. Guiness-29 outrebounded Guiness-29 Jr. 41-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Shakirzhan Kuranbaev (170-84) who scored 26 points and 6 assists. Forward Evgenii Pekhov (198-92) chipped in 8 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks. Guiness-29's coach used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Temirlan Kapakov (199-4) produced 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Nazim Oruchkulov (200-4) added 19 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests.
