Politekhnik - Nomad 101-68 Bottom-ranked Nomad (0-3) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 101-68 loss to fifth ranked Politekhnik (3-2) in Bishkek. The game without a history. Politekhnik led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Politekhnik outrebounded Nomad 55-41 including 28 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. It was a good game for point guard Syimyk Esenaliev (181-0) who led his team to a victory with 37 points (!!!). Roman Gostishev (197-97) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 22 rebounds for the winners. Four Politekhnik players scored in double figures. Politekhnik's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international forward Konstantin Usenko (194-89) replied with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds and the former international center Ruslan Mazitov (190-88) added 11 points, 17 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Nomad. Politekhnik moved-up to fourth place. Newly promoted Nomad still closes the standings with three games lost. Politekhnik's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Bishkek Legion. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 45-28 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Guiness-29 made 8 blocks. The former international guard Shakirzhan Kuranbaev (170-84) had a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 12 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Evgenii Pekhov (198-92) chipped in 23 points, 13 rebounds and 7 blocks during the contest. The best for the losing side was the former international forward Konstantin Usenko (194-89) with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds and the former international center Ruslan Mazitov (190-88) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Guiness-29 have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 4-1 record behind leader Legion. Newly promoted Nomad still closes the standings with three games lost. Legion defeated bottom-ranked Nomad in Bishkek 80-67. The game was mostly controlled by Legion. Nomad managed to win second period 23-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was Nurtai Subanbekov (185-92) who scored 28 points and 4 assists. Aleksei Batskih (205-73) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Four Legion players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Baish Adiev (192-90) who recorded 35 points (!!!) and the former international forward Konstantin Usenko (194-89) added 16 points and 19 rebounds respectively. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Nomad at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with three games lost. Nomad will play next round against strong Guiness-29 trying to get back on the winning streak. Legion will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Politekhnik. It will be extra interesting game as Politekhnik is their local rival from Bishkek.
