Liga Forward Round 6: Legion keeps a leadership position

Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Legion as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Legion defeated bottom-ranked Nomad in Bishkek 80-67. The game was mostly controlled by Legion. Nomad managed to win second period 23-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was Nurtai Subanbekov (185-92) who scored 28 points and 4 assists. Aleksei Batskih (205-73) chipped in 12 points and 11 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Baish Adiev (192-90) who recorded 35 points (!!!). As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Nomad at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with three games lost. Nomad will play next round against strong Guiness-29 trying to get back on the winning streak. Legion will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Politekhnik. It will be extra interesting game as Politekhnik is their local rival from Bishkek.

Politekhnik - Nomad 101-68

Bottom-ranked Nomad (0-3) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 101-68 loss to fifth ranked Politekhnik (3-2) in Bishkek. The game without a history. Politekhnik led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Politekhnik outrebounded Nomad 55-41 including 28 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. It was a good game for point guard Syimyk Esenaliev (181-0) who led his team to a victory with 37 points (!!!).
