Lions sign Johnathan Williams III, ex Qadsia

Johnathan Williams III

London Lions (SLB) signed 30-year old American center Johnathan Williams III (206cm-94kg-1995, college: Gonzaga, agency: Diamond Sports) for upcoming 2025-26 season. Williams played last season at Qadsia in Kuwaiti D1 league. He managed to play in three leagues in two countries last year. In four West Asia Super League games he had 9.5ppg, 7.3rpg and 1.3apg. Williams also played for Jets in Japanese B1 League where in 17 games he recorded 11.8ppg, 9.1rpg, 3.1apg and 1.3bpg. Good season as he was named League Player of the Week. The other team he played that season for was Veltex in Japanese B2 League. In 10 games he averaged 13.4ppg, 7.8rpg and 1.7apg. Good season as he was also here named League Player of the Week.
He is quite experienced player. Williams has played in nine different countries on three different continents (Europe, Asia and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in Germany (Chemnitz), Israel (Maccabi Effie Capital Rishon Le-Zion), Italy (Dolomiti Trentino), Philippines (Masters), Turkey (Galatasaray), NBA (LA Lakers and Washington Wizards), Japan (Fighting Eagles and Grouses), NBA G League (South Bay Lakers and Capital City Go-Go) and NBA Summer League (Houston Rockets and Sacramento Kings). His team won WCC Tournament in 2017 and 2018.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he was voted Asia-Basket.com All-PBA Commissioner's Cup Import Player of the Year in 2024.
Williams graduated from Gonzaga University in 2018 and it will be his eighth season as a professional player. He played for other colleges like: University of Missouri, University of Memphis.
